I know I’ve been quiet. Unfortunately, real-life commitments have forced me to take a step back from writing. I just haven’t had the energy or space in my head for my characters. Fingers crossed, and if nothing unexpected happens things should calm down in the new year, and I can go back to my normal routine of procrastinating in front of my computer.
But I wanted to drop in and wish everyone a happy holiday, whatever you celebrate or don’t celebrate. And to make sure everyone knows this place is not abandoned, just temporarily on hold.
I also wanted to tell you about this thing happening on Twitter under the hashtag #TheDarkIsReading which is a read-along of the novel; The Dark Is Rising. For those of you who don’t know it, you can read more about it and the sequence it belongs to HERE
I don’t have the time to go into what this book and the other four in the series has meant to me, other than to say that it was one of the reasons I fell in love with fantasy as a child/adolescent. The book can be read as a standalone so don’t worry that it’s the second in the series. Read it alone or together with your children, just crawl under a blanket, eat Christmas candy and get lost in this atmospheric, epic story about dark vs. light, magic, and loyalty.
You can find more information about the read-along HERE; I’m starting today, I hope you’ll join me.
With hopes of seeing you all more regularly in the New Year.
